Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement for Man with Van Wapping
Man with Van Wapping is committed to conducting all aspects of its business in a manner that respects human rights, promotes fair working conditions, and actively works to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in its operations and supply chains. This statement sets out the steps we are taking to identify, prevent, and address the risks of modern slavery within our business activities.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
We operate a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, forced labour, child labour, servitude, and human trafficking. This applies to every aspect of our removals and transportation services, including any third parties who support our work. We expect all employees, contractors, and suppliers to share this commitment and to uphold the highest standards of ethical and responsible conduct at all times.
We will not knowingly engage with or support any organisation that is involved in, or complicit with, modern slavery in any form. Where credible concerns are identified, we will take immediate and appropriate action, which may include suspending or terminating business relationships.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Man with Van Wapping provides local and regional transport, removals, and associated logistics services. Our supply chains include vehicle and equipment suppliers, fuel providers, subcontracted drivers and porters, packaging material suppliers, and facilities and maintenance services.
Because of the nature of our work and the sectors in which we operate, we acknowledge that there may be heightened risks of labour exploitation in logistics and related services. We are therefore focused on ensuring that everyone working on our behalf is recruited, treated, and paid fairly, and that their rights are respected at all times.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We expect our suppliers and subcontractors to operate in line with our values and to comply with all applicable laws relating to employment, labour rights, and modern slavery. We are working to develop and implement supplier standards that require our partners to:
Demonstrate that all workers are employed voluntarily and have the right to leave work and terminate employment with reasonable notice. Ensure that no worker is required to pay recruitment fees or surrender identity documents as a condition of employment. Provide clear, written terms of employment, including pay, working hours, and rest breaks, in a language the worker understands. Maintain safe and hygienic working conditions and treat workers with dignity and respect.
We carry out proportionate supplier checks and may conduct audits or request documented evidence where we identify higher risks. These may include questionnaires, site visits where appropriate, and reviews of labour practices and policies. If a supplier fails to meet our standards or to implement necessary improvements, we reserve the right to reconsider or end the relationship.
Training, Awareness, and Reporting Channels
We are committed to increasing awareness of modern slavery risks among our management team, staff, and key contractors. Training and guidance are offered to those responsible for procurement, recruitment, and day-to-day supervision to help them recognise signs of exploitation and know how to respond.
All employees and workers engaged by Man with Van Wapping are encouraged to report any concerns about possible modern slavery, either within our operations or in the wider supply chain. Concerns may be raised with line management or senior management, and we will ensure that all reports are treated seriously, investigated promptly, and handled sensitively. We will not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility that requires continuous improvement. We are committed to regularly reviewing and enhancing our policies, procedures, and due diligence activities to ensure that they remain effective and proportionate to our business risks.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement will be reviewed and updated annually by our senior management team. The review will consider any incidents or concerns raised, changes in our business operations or supply chains, evolving legislation, and best practice guidance. Where necessary, we will adapt our actions and priorities to strengthen our approach.
By publishing this statement, Man with Van Wapping reaffirms its commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking and to operating as a responsible, transparent, and ethical business.
